I’m Shawn Marie Jones and I have been working as a Licensed Massage Therapist here in Geneva, NY for the last 13+ years. I graduated from the program of Therapeutic Massage and Integrative Health Care at FLCC in May of 2006. My goal in my bodywork is to identify and treat existing pain due to stress, injury, strains, sprains, compensation due to repetitive motion, and ultimately to help you manifest release, deep relaxation and restore structural function. Our approach through different techniques and advanced modalities will continuously grow and evolve, just as our bodies and lives do, every day.
Since 2012 I have continued my education and training with The Upledger Institute and have been practicing CranioSacral Therapy while integrating SomatoEmotional Release into my sessions. This work looks deeper into the body, helping us discover the emotional and subtle roots of discomfort and chronic conditions. CST and SER have become very rewarding and I look forward to bringing more of their integrative benefits into my practice.
I have been offering Traditional Glass Cupping Massage since 2016 and continue my advanced studies with the International Cupping Therapy Association. This work has profoundly changed my bodywork and personal self-care. I am grateful to be able to offer this ancient modality and continue to share its rich benefits with my community.
Starting in 2017, I took over the office I had been practicing in for 10 years and created the Finger Lakes Office of Alternative Therapies. This is a growing project, with the goal of bringing practitioners of Holistic Therapies and practices to a growing client base, here in the Finger Lakes. I look forward to continuing to expand on all that I have done here in the last 13 years and will always be looking for ways to add to our offerings of services. You can check out our other practitioners on our group website here!
I truly enjoy working here in Geneva and with all the wonderful clients that have come my way. I’ve worked with a number of athletes and performing artists in the area’s colleges and performance centers and I love the challenge it brings. More than anything I value the trust that you, the client, have shown me. I learn so much from working with you all and look forward to what each new day brings!
